ABOUT ROOFTOP YOGA
THE WORKOUT
The Rooftop Yoga class led by Yoga One was designed for those yearning to awaken to the sun early in the morning or unwind after a long day with a calming, yet dynamic series of yoga poses and movements. Unlike yoga in a studio or gym setting, Rooftop Yoga captures the beauty of the San Diego Harbor’s shimmering waters and breathtaking sunsets while inspiring each participant to find their own balance. With individualized instruction through a combination of flow postures synchronized with breath, Rooftop Yoga is perfect for mixed-level students looking to escape both physical and mental confines while developing a deeper connection with his or her practice. Open to hotel guests and local residents, Rooftop Yoga at the Porto Vista Hotel cultivates a healthier body and a more peaceful mind.
THE SCENE
Located in San Diego’s historic Little Italy neighborhood, Rooftop Yoga at the Porto Vista Hotel takes place against a backdrop of the glistening San Diego Bay in the midst of bustling boutiques, historic churches, art galleries and quaint cafes–replicating the allure of a coastal European getaway. Students of Rooftop Yoga at The Porto Vista Hotel enjoy a unique celebration of style, sophistication, and, most of all, a great workout.
THE INSPIRATION
Amy and Michael Caldwell are the founders of Yoga One, downtown San Diego’s award-winning Interdisciplinary Hatha yoga studio. After discovering the joys and benefits of yoga while traveling overseas, Michael and Amy were committed to sharing the experience once they returned home. Since opening Yoga One in May of 2002, the Caldwells are honored to have facilitated the well-being of thousands of individuals and continue to fulfill their dream of offering a variety of yoga disciplines in a variety of locations.
